Church News

All Saints
November 1 is All Saints’ Day, which makes this Sunday, “All Saints’ Sunday.”  During each service this weekend, we will call to remembrance 15 persons – “saints” who have gone on to glory since last All Saints’ Sunday.  At our traditional service (11:00 a.m.) we will have the ceremony of lighting the candles in their memory.

New Upper Room Devotionals
In the back right corner of our sanctuary we now have a wall-mounted display for our Upper Room devotionals and our church brochures.  Nov/Dec Upper Rooms, both regular and large print, are available.  Please pick up one this weekend.

Mullet Festival Committee to Meet this Thursday
There will be a Mullet Festival Committee meeting this Thursday (7 p.m.) to evaluate how our Mullet Festival went and plan for next year.

Cub Scouts Pack Meetings
Did you know that our Cub Pack now has over 50 children (boys and girls)?  This means that our fellowship hall may not be large enough when they hold their monthly Pack meetings.  First UMC Titusville has graciously agreed to let our Pack hold their monthly gathering in the hall at their church.  It’s wonderful to work in partnership with our sister congregations!

Volunteers Working to Complete Scout House Renovations
We thank several men (and a woman) who are working all week inside our Scout House to complete the renovation, so that we can have carpet installed (which is being funded by the offerings of other congregations).  We thank the crew for their hard work, and look forward to having our Scout House in tip-top shape.

Volunteers Needed to Serve Community Breakfasts this Saturday
This Saturday morning, it is our church’s turn to serve breakfast for the community at First UMC Titusville.  Contact Julie Harrison to volunteer (321-704-9499).

Movie Night This Saturday
We will hold our second annual “Movie Night” this Saturday, Nov. 3rd at 8 p.m. (immediately following our 7 p.m. worship.  It will be held outside, so bring your lawn chair and a jacket or blanket (depending on weather).  A $2 donation will get you pizza, popcorn, and soft drinks.  The movie will be “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.”  Call the church office to sign up (unless you already signed up in worship).

Dinner this Wednesday (Halloween)
Yes, there is a Church Dinner tomorrow (on Halloween) at 5 p.m. as usual.  $8.  The meal includes items with cute “scary” names (the main course is Chicken Pot Pie).  Come in costume, because the best costume will win you a ticket for a free dinner!

No Bell or Choir Practice
Because of Halloween, there will be NO bell or choir practice this Wednesday.

Thanksgiving Baskets for the Needy
We are asking the two elementary schools for the names of needy families we can provide a Thanksgiving Basket for.  If you want to help, make a cash donation (make sure it is marked clearly for “Thanksgiving Baskets”).

Thanksgiving Dinner (Free) Served on Thanksgiving Day – Reservations Required
Again this Thanksgiving, we will host Thanksgiving Dinner at our church at 1 p.m.  We need you to sign up this weekend in worship, or call the church office.

Make Worship a Priority
In recent weeks, we have missed some of you in worship.  Let’s all make worship a priority.  As it says in scripture:

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do,
but encourage one another,
especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

Hebrews 10:25
