The Mims United Methodist Church has been in service to the community since 1892. In 1884 people in the Mims area started a Sunday School, and began to think about organizing a church. Soon $1,800 (a large sum of money in those days) had been collected and Mr. R. E. Mims, for whom the town is named, donated a one-quarter lot where the church was built.
Ministries for our community: Bible Study, Prayer Group, Food Pantry, Good News Club, God Squad, A.A. Meetings, Clothes Closet, Church Supper, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.
Mims UMC is the home to one of the oldest Boy Scout Troop in North Brevard. Our Troop was established in 1962 and can proudly claim 52 Eagle Scouts.
